This is good news and a start. The same closed containment systems need to be adopted on the west coast to preserve the health and integrity of the wild salmon on the pacific side.
"Bill Taylor, President of ASF, said, “With concerns growing over the impacts of salmon farming on threatened and endangered wild Atlantic salmon, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the future of salmon farming must lie in closed containment systems. ASF has decided to put our purse behind our policy and get involved in developing a promising new way to sustainably grow out healthy Atlantic salmon in closed containment facilities.”"

Wild salmon need our help!
Check out what some of my friends are doing out west to preserve the integrity of our wild salmon.
A little bit of background information!
Wherever salmon feedlots operate worldwide they kill wild salmon, because they break the natural laws that control disease. This 92% Norwegian-owned industry uses the BC coast as a dumpsite, spreading devastating disesase and parasites to the wild environment. These companies are driven by shareholder obligation to grow relentlessly and will never be satisfied, removing more food from the ocean than they make and rapidly mechanizing to reduce jobs.
We can no longer accept this business as reasonable. They just need to Get Out of our Ocean.

Pre-run Almond milk drink!
Fresh Home Made Almond Milk!
I stay away from processed foods, normally. These include all of the processed milks you see in the health food stores. I don't appreciate the high sugar content in them. The following is a delicious recipe for almond milk. There is a catch, You'll need a high power blender such as a VitaMix!
1 cup of pre-soaked almonds
3 cups of ice
Add water up to the 1.5 liter or the 6 cup mark
Add 6 to 8 dates for sweetness
You can get creative and add cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa or whatever suites your taste!
Blend for 3 to 4 minutes and you have about 3 dollars worth of almond milk for 50 cents.
I sometimes add it to my morning steel cut oats or granola instead of my raw milk.
